At Hillberry Farm our residence Capuchin Monkeys Kwango, Kirsty and Gucci have a new home. At the beginning of April they were relocated and now have a new home at the Monkey Sanctuary looe in Cornwall. www.monkeysanctuary.org Grant is very happy that they will have a wonderful new life and secure future.

Trevor Gallatly Alpaca shearer from Australia has been to Hillberry Farm to Shear our Eight resident Alpacas.
Also giving there toe nails a trim and there inoculations.
Trevor and his two helpers have made a wonderful job.

Art In the Gardens Sheffield
Grant will be displaying and selling his hand made pottery at this years Art in the Gardens
which is held in the Sheffield Botanical Gardens.

Grant Battle will be displaying and selling his hand made Pottery/Ceramics at the Crosspool Craft Fayre which is taking place at the Stephen Hill Methodist Church ,Manchester Road, Crosspool, Sheffield. From 11am to 4pm Saturday 13th November.

Grant Battle will be displaying and selling his pottery at this years Sheffield Art in the Gardens which is held in the Sheffield Botanical Gardens.
This will be Grants 6th Show and will have a wide selection of hand made Pottery.

Grant has an appointment a the Hallamishire Hospital in Sheffield for a
M.R.I scan to his head.Grant who had a brain tumour removed in 1996 is monitored by having a MRI scans to seen if further tumours may have reoccured.
June 4th and 11th 2010
Grant has attended Bassetlaw Hospital Worksop on the 4th and 11th June for a second treatment of photodynamic therapy for two basal cell carcinomas situated on the top of his head. Previous treatment was successful on only one area but failed to completely treat the second, it will be 3 month before grant will know if the treatment was successful.

Mr Andrew Hand from CERTEX UK Doncaster has very kindly donated 60 meters of Poly hemp rope to Hillberry Farm Sanctuary. The rope will be used to furnish our Capuchin monkey enclosures, which is a valuable source of enrichment.

Grant Battle has attended Bassetlaw Hospital at worksop for his treatment for two Basel Cell Carcinomas, Grant had a treatment called Photodynamic Therapy. Sandra Veater Clinical nurse specialist Dermatology was very supportive and performed the treatment on Grants scalp. Grant will have to wait three months to see if the treatment has been successful.

Mr Nick Masters from the International zoo veterinary Group has performed an operation on Capuchin Monkey Charlie to remove a broken canine tooth. the operation took place at Hillberry Farm and was very successful. Grant has cared for Charlie for 19 years and he has made a full recovery.
Grant has had an Appointment with Dermatologist Dr Bittiner at Bassetlaw District General hospital, for treatment for two Basel cell Carcinomas. Grant will be having a treatment called Photodynamic Therapy which comprises of a light sensitising chemical which is selectively taken up by the tumour cells, and then can be activated by the use of a laser light.
